Philip Bright Mensah is joining the Young Germany World Cup Blogger Team from Ghana.

Last week you met Der Irische Berliner and Fazal Adnan.  This week we’ve got another Young Germany blogger to introduce to you: Philip Bright Mensah.  Philip will be bringing you blogs about the World Cup all the way from Ghana.

Now 24 years old, Philip got his BSc in statistics and actuarial science from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi. He is passionate about soccer and is an Arsenal fan.  He currently lives in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

I asked him what he likes to do in his free time.  “I do a lot volunteering work,” he told me, “and belong to this global youth organization called AIESEC that seeks to develop the potential of young people. I have established networks with young people from across the globe through this organization and normally share ideas during our conferences. I am also part of the WED (World Entrepreneurs Day) team in Ghana.  There we seek to empower young people to be global entrepreneurs.”

“I am new to blogging,” he went on, “but I like it because I like writing. I write poems, short stories, and on any social issue.  I swim and jog with my cousin just to reduce stress and unwind.”

Check back at the Young Germany Blog tomorrow to read Philip’s post about German-born Ghanian football player Kevin-Prince Boateng.
